The Airport Board of Adjustment was established February 1, 2009 (appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council). The purpose of the Airport Board of Adjustment is to hear and decide appeals, special requests, and requests for variance to the Airport Land Use Regulations Ordinance passed by City Council on December 3, 2008 and made effective February 1, 2009; as well as the Airport Hazard Area Regulations Ordinance passed December 16, 2009 and made effective March 1, 2010. An amendment to the Ordinances was passed by City Council and made effective immediately.

The Airport Board of Adjustment (Board) is a quasi-judicial body that meets monthly on an as needed basis. The Board may hear and decide an appeal from an order, requirement, decision, or determination made in the enforcement of a provision of the Airport Compatible Land Use and Hazard Area Ordinances (Articles VI and VII, Chapter 9, City of Houston Code of Ordinances), and also considers variance requests from the requirements of those Articles. All Board meetings, including special meetings, are open to the public and are held in full compliance with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, other State law, and the ordinances of the City of Houston.

Meetings will be held in the City Hall Annex Council Chambers located at 900 Bagby, Public Level, Houston, Texas. The regular meetings take place at 6:00 PM, on the dates shown below:
